If you are searching for a healthy burger option then this recipe is for you. This Chili Cheeseburger is cooked on a high temperature to have a seared crust, a special treat for crunch loving people. It’s going to be the crispy on the outside while the meat inside will be juicy and tender.
In order to make this crunchy burger you need
- 1 lb ground beef
- Chili powder 1 tablespoon
- Salt half teaspoon
- Black pepper half teaspoon
- Cheddar cheese (shredded) ¼ cup
- Take 4 of whole-wheat hamburger buns (toasted)
- Scallions ¼ cup
- Light sour cream 2 tablespoon
- And take two chopped pickled jalapeños
Take your lean ground beef in a bowl and then add black pepper and chili powder mix it using your hands. You can add salt to your taste. Now make four small balls out of this mixture.
Let’s make patties from your mixture. We suggest using a hot cast iron skillet to make juicy patties. Put your skillet on a high flame and wait until you see a little smoke rising. Now take each of the four balls and place them in your hot skillet. In order to shape them into patties use a spatula to put on top of them. Pressing down the spatula will make the patties cook from one side. Place a small skillet on your patties and cook for about one and a half minute so that they are charred.
Now remove the top skillet, flip over the patties and cook them from the other side as well. Keep the small skillet on while cooking. This time cook your patties for about one minute or until charred.
It’s time to add cheese to your juicy patties. Remove the top pan and check the underside of your patties as well. Now add some salt and place the cheese on top. Now cover your skillet with the top pan in order to steam your patties so that cheese gets melted. It usually takes 30 to 40 seconds.
Take your toasted hamburger buns, top them with the creamy cheese-topped patties, put on some sour cream, jalapeños and scallions and enjoy.
